"If there was anyone who knew what the love of a family truly meant, it was the Starks.”
the fall of clara // the fall of eleven
#i felt it was important to make this gif set #not only because of the parallels concerning how these scenes were shot #but the parallel in the episodes #the narratives #in the snowmen it’s the doctor who loses clara#right before his eyes #and he’s helpless to do anything about it #but then he meets her again in the bells of saint john #except she’s not the same girl #not entirely #and he needs to respect this fact #that clara is /not/ clara oswin oswald #and he can’t treat her like she is #much like in the time of the doctor #where clara’s doctor is taken from her #/her/ doctor #and in his place is the twelfth #all of this happens in front of her; she’s helpless #not in control like she is so comfortable being #and soon she will have to come to terms with the fact #that the eleventh and twelfth doctor are different #and i’m really interested to see clara and the twelfth’s dynamic
"Fun fact, Rose’s Bechdal test score would have been in the 80′s were it not for the episodes Moffat wrote during her run."
Guys, really, you should click the link.
“Ironically, the woman who is often propped up as proof that Steven Moffat is, in fact, not a sexist was one of the worst in terms of the Bechdel test and overall independence of thought and character. While maintaining an average speaking time, the episodes she is in only pass the Bechdel Test 57% of the time, and she herself only passes 42% of the time. She also never passes it on her own after Series 5. It is also important to note that River’s “passes” barely scraped by this test. Her passing conversations were always around three or four lines of exchange total, limited to one per episode, and were always in the presence of/with the Doctor.”
It hurts every day, the absence of someone who was once there
And if you wanna cry or fall apart
I’ll be there to hold you
